TraNSITONAL HOUSING
BCHA assists in placement of households experiencing homelessness or who are housing unstable, including placement in transitional housing in Ketchum, Hailey and Bellevue, depending upon availability.
STEPS TO BCHA'S TRANSITIONAL HOUSING:
1. Fill out the common intake form
2. BCHA will contact you to assess current needs and priority on the waitlist. Please note, a response make take time and other housing resources should be utilized until contacted.
3. If a unit becomes available and based on priority and time on waitlist, BCHA will ask household to fill out a full application
4. BCHA will assist placed and waitlisted households in finding permanent housing
TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PRIORITIZATION POLICY:
Since Blaine County has limited housing capacity, housing interventions will be prioritized, in a nondiscriminatory manner, for those who would benefit the most from the available type of housing.
Transitional Housing Prioritization Policy
Applications for available units will be offered to those on the Blaine County Housing Authority waitlist who are experiencing homelessness following the prioritization order below.
No applicant will be turned away from services due to disability status or substance use.

- 1. Households with children and pregnant women who have been residing in a place not meant for human habitation or in an emergency shelter.
- 2. Individuals who have been residing in a place not meant for human habitation or in an emergency shelter when the individual has a disability, enhanced service need or has experienced multiple periods of homelessness over the last 3 years.
- 3. Domestic violence survivors: individuals and families with at least one person who identifies domestic violence experience as the primary reason causing their housing crisis.
- 4. Persons in the early stages of AOD addiction recovery- individuals and families with at least one person who recently began receiving services to assist in their recovery from alcohol or other drug addiction.
- 5. Other households with children.
- 6. Other individuals.
